Baturin Alexandr


(1914 - 2003)
Born in Helsinki, Finland. 1931-1934 – takes V. V. Sterligov’s painting and drowing classes. 1934 – is arrested and until 1946 he is situated in Stalin’s prisoner camps. 1956 – he is rehabilitated and comes back to Leningrad to meet again with Sterligov and to continue their team-work. He is the first Punin prize laureate. 2002 – is conferred a decoration upon the Friendship order.
